Our History

The company first began back in 1955 when Lloyd Gavel owned a small tire repair shop in Wetaskiwin.

One day someone came to the shop with a used pipe wiper and wanted to know if Lloyd could repair it.
Lloyd expertly fixed the old pipe wiper and then soon began repairing oilfield drilling rubbers. That led to air clutches and then on and on.
That company was called Gavel's Vulcanizing Ltd.

The company continued to grow and Lloyd needed help, so Clarence Bailer, who was working for him at the time, became his partner in 1965.

They continued to work together for 20 years until retirement. The company was taken over by family members who expanded the business further and remain the present owners.

The name was changed to G&B Rubber, and the company carries an unwavering commitment to the tradition of excellent quality and service to their customers.
